Or maybe you’ve wondered what leaven the people of God were instructed to get rid of during the Feast of Unleavened Bread? Surely not the little packets! So what then? Let me try to explain... 🥖 🍞

We have quite a few new faces that have joined the We have quite a few new faces that have joined the HOA team this year! Over the next few weeks, we'll introduce them to you!

The Homesteaders of America team is one of the most incredible teams I've (Amy) ever worked with. They are dedicated, motivated, and better yet, they are homesteaders themselves! Often times people think that HOA is a large corporation, but we really like to keep ourselves rooted in small business, homesteading minded, and empowering others through any way we can. Sometimes this means we might take 48- or 72- hours instead of 12 hours to get back to emails or phone calls. But the beauty of homesteading (and the HOA team), is flexibility and the ability to live our best homesteading life while still offering this event and service to all of you!

With that said, HOA has grown so much in the last year, that it's time for us to bring on a few new homesteaders that love this organization and event just as much as the rest of us.

Let's kick off our "welcome to the team" post with our brand new Sponsor Coordinator, Connie Meyer of @urban_overalls .

Connie is an organic urban homesteader on 1/3 of an acre along the Front Range of Colorado. As a former farm kid now living in an urban area , she has written online articles for Backyard Poultry Magazine as well as local publications; participated in a Tastemade video for their series "Beyond the Block" as an urban homesteader; created her blog, Urban Overalls, and has a YouTube channel. She has demonstrated and taught what is possible in a city setting. Her philosophy stems from her agrarian upbring in Iowa. "If something was broken, we fixed it. If it mooed, we milked it. If it was hungry, we fed it".

In her quest of sharing her passion for urban homesteading and creating community, she became a founding member of the Northern Colorado Urban Homestead Tour, serving as its chairman for five years; teaching classes in an urban homesteading series, and serving on the Homestead Alliance committee for the Larimer County Farmers Alliance.

Give Connie a great big welcome! Welcome to the team, Connie!
