Beef Butchering Workshop :: Non-HOA Event

June 15 - June 22

 Come join Luke Dougherty and Brian Burke in a beef butchering workshop on June 15 and 22nd. The first Saturday will be dispatch day, where the steer will be dispatched into quarters. The day will start at the Monastery where Shawn and Beth Dougherty farm and end with lunch at Brian’s farm, where the quarters will hang for the week.  Shawn and Beth will be joining participants for lunch on Saturday.

The second Saturday will be processing day, where participants will learn how to break the quarters into recognizable and usable cuts. This will be done at Brian’s farm, where he and Luke have held their past butcher workshops, utilizing hand tools for processing. The second Saturday will include lunch and dinner. 

Please note that this event is an opportunity to learn the basics of butchering and processing the meat. Participants will not be taking meat home with them from this event.
