Windmill Heights Garden Center

About Paul Hutcheson

Paul grew up on a hobby farm, and from an early age, his parents immersed him in the care of vegetables, fruits, and chickens. His parents were innovative and hard-working weekend homesteaders, growing all the normal crops plus a pick-your-own blueberry patch, persimmons, pawpaws, heart-nuts, and sorghum (molasses). He received a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture from Virginia Tech, with a focus on crop production in protected environments. (Fancy talk for growing plants in greenhouses!). Since 2012, he has operated the family greenhouse operation, Windmill Heights Garden Center, located in Culpeper, Virginia. Together with his team of awesome employees, they grow over 100,000 vegetable transplants for local gardeners. His small urban homestead is home to 12 chickens, a large vegetable garden, and a fruit orchard. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
