The Honeystead

Kaylee and her family homestead on 40 acres in Warren County, Virginia raising chickens, goats, cows, honey bees, and Mangalitsa pigs. Over the years they have established a sustainable lifestyle through raising and growing their own food, utilizing herbs for medicinal purposes, and by cooking from scratch.

Their family has been raising Mangalitsa pigs as a sustainable meat for the past 5 years. They have come to appreciate the quality of darker meat which Mangalistas provide. Because of this her family farm is a popular booth at local farmers markets and local restaurants. From bees to bacon they offer meat, eggs, produce, honey and more from their property. She is an advocate for living a simpler life and finding something beautiful in everything that you do.

In addition to being a farmer Kaylee is a wife and mother of two active farm kids. She is also a Homestead YouTuber at The Honeystead, Blog Contributor to the Homesteaders of America website, and photographer. Kaylee also has published artwork in Amy Fewell’s book, The Homesteader’s Natural Chicken Keeping Handbook: Raising a Healthy Flock from Start to Finish.
